The Monthly Meeting of the Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club was held on 4/17/13 6pm at Stevelly’s. Officers Present: Brian Martinson, President: Shawn Peichel, Vice President: Dan Meyer, treasurer: Alanna Burns, Secretary: Other booster members present: Jen Soule, Heather Meyer, Dean Bahls and Rhonda Balls
Meeting Called to Order: 6pm by Shawn Peichel
Secretary’s Report: Short meeting last month, minutes were emailed
Treasurer’s report: Dan Meyer read the Treasurers report. Copies handed out to all Booster members. There is currently $1025.25 left in coaching fund. The booster club also paid $693.25 towards the attorney fee for LAGA to draft contract. More will have to be paid as some revisions were made. A few more sign renewals were paid also.
Sign Campaign:$14,950 raised so far this year. Shawn suggested we use the sign campaign solely for the purpose of assistant coaches. Based on the history of the sign campaign, $12,400 is a realistic number for this years coaching commitment. Dan Meyer motioned we accept this amount and Shawn Peichel 2. Will review annually and average the income made from the sign campaign. All other fund raising should be used for other things that come up for the team. ON MAY 1 a few volunteers are needed at the gym at 6pm to help take down a few signs and get to JH signs for updates.
Old Business:
Website / Facebook:Maybe get a counter added to the web page so we can see how many hits we are getting. Seems to be a good resource for information / communication.
Key chains: Done selling for the year. Will pick up again with fall sports. We have about 55 left to sell at $5 each.
Bylaws: Committee should get with LAGA board to review theirs once complete.
New Business:
New Team Gymnast Packet: Jodi Martinson has started to put some things together. Maybe have ready to hand out at a “summer picnic” event welcoming the new gymnasts. Best time was decided in July. Right now, the 20 looks like a good date. Alanna and Jen to head and organize.
Fred Thank you: His last day is June 30. Dean suggested we invite him back to the Jackie Mann tournament and do something for him then. Rhonda Bahls in charge of collecting donations to get him a gift certificate.
Spring Show: Is May 23. We will announce butter braid winners. Will ask Charlie if we can sell remaining t-shirts and window clings. Rhonda and Dean volunteered to sit at table.
Thank you to KLN: Brian asking Lynn to bring a thank you card to banquet and have the girls sign so we can get out to them for giving a $100 donation for team of the week.
Summer events:Turtle fest Parade on June 21. Steve Breitenfelt said we could use trailer and he will drive again. Use sign and have girls hand out apples from Russ Davis again. Brian will be in charge of hot dog sales at deans again. Need to get on list for UCB Wednesday summer one.
