Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club Minutes
8/21/13
The Monthly Meeting of the Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club was held on 8/21/13at 6pm at SteVelly’s. Officers Present: Brian Martinson, President: Shawn Piechel, Vice President:Alanna Burns, Secretary: Dan Meyer, Treasurer; Tamara Roberts and MariannHokanson , voting members. Other members present: Sara Piechel, Dean Bahls, Heather Meyer, Rhonda Bahls and Scott Olson.
Meeting Called to Order: 5:59pm by Brian Martinson
Secretary’s Report: Minutes were dispersed via email for the month of July and approved by Dean and second by Dan.
Treasurer’s report: Dan dispersed treasurer’s report. Approved by Dean, second by Shawn.
Sign Campaign: The push for sponsors will pick up again next year. Some signs need to come down for those that did not renew. New sponsor and updated signs to be done by mid September by JH Signs. The sign by the Arvig Const. site (old Phelps Ford) needs to be repaired.
Website / Facebook: Jen Soule expressed interest in transitioning into website control. Mariann and Jen to get together to set up date. Lynn possibly has a lap top we can use, but site should be able to be ran remotely once we get domain name.
Old business: Alanna Burns is heading up the Tulip fundraiser. Flyers and order forms to be handed out at open house on August 29. Fundraising efforts will run until September 16 when all order forms and payment need to be turned into gym in drop box or given to Shelby Burns. Bulbs will arrive two weeks after they receive master order form.
Pizza Ranch fundraiser in July made $218.00. It’s a good fundraiser with not much effort, so we should sign up for more.
No more parades this year to participate in.
Dean and several others are meeting with Matt Hayden with CI Sports on Monday to discuss apparel purchasing from him instead of long weekend.
Christmas ornament ideas are in process.
New Business:
Fall clothing fundraiser set for now until September 20. Order forms to go out at open house on August 29. Window clings and key chains will also be sold.
There was a last minute fundraising opportunity at BOF packing bags of chips and several families stepped up to help. They raised $1000.
Jackie Man in on Black Friday this year November 22 and 23. The number of teams will be far less than in years past. There is no way to get it changed.
Next meeting is scheduled for September 18th at 6pm at SteVelly’s.
