Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster club

The monthly meeting of the Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club was held on 1 /16/2013 at the Perham High school Cafeteria. Members present: Alanna Burns, Kelly widness, Tamera Roberts, Heather Fones, Sara & Shaun Peichel, Dean Bahls, Heather & Dan Meyer, Jen Soule and Mariann Hokanson. The meeting was called to order by Shaun Peichel at 6:06pm.
Secretary’s Report: Accepted as written and posted on Web page.
Treasurers report: treasures report given by Dan Meyer. A motion to accept treasures report as given made by Shaun Peichel, seconded by Alanna Burns.
Old Business:
Facebook & Web Page: The Facebook page has gotten 34 likes from people viewing the web page. Mariann Hokanson will continue to manage the Web page through next Aug 2013. Then Darwin will train someone else to manage the page for the Booster club. Heather Fones expressed interest in doing this. She also asked if we could put a twitter account on the web page so people can tweet scores as it happens. Mariann will check with Darwin on setting this up.
RADA: Lynn was not present to report on this.
Key Chains: will continue to sell until gone. It was stated we should cut the price but was not decided on at this meeting.
New Business:
By Laws: A committee was formed to create new by-laws. Alanna Burns will also look further into the secretary of state to see where the original Bylaws went? If found we will need to get a copy to review and make changes as needed. If no Bylaws have been done the committee will develop new by-laws. The committee includes: Mariann Hokanson, Shaun Peichel, Dean Bahls, and Dan Meyer who were present at the meeting. It was suggested that our President also be a part of this group.
Butter Braids: Selling of the Butter Braids starts January 28 orders due February 15. Delivery of butter braids will be on March 6 per Sara Peichel. There are prizes for selling butters braids by the company itself and there will be prizes given by the booster club for the top 3 sales. Sara will be putting the prizes together. True Team T-shirt orders were put in yesterday for the JV and Varsity team members. All parents will need to pay: $24.00 to Sara Peichel for their gymnast’s shirts. Its was asked by Sara if the booster club would help with the costs but the parents voted that they would pay for their own shirts, it was not necessary for the booster club to help fund this.
Section T-Shirts: Have been approved by Charlie for the booster club to design and sell the t-shirts for sections. Dawn Hutmacher designed the t-shirts and Sara Peichel is taking care of the rest. Sara will give me all the ordering information when she is done, and will be put out through the Web page email.
Charlie Fleck requested that the Booster club pay for hotel rooms as per previous years for True Team tournament. Also asked if Jessie could be put on a Bi-monthly pay schedule instead of monthly, Request brought to the meeting per Heather Meyer. Shaun Peichel, made a motion to accept these requests, Seconded by Dan Meyer.
Voting in of New Members: Mariann Hokanson is stepping down from her 2 year term as Secretary. Nominee Alanna Burns was voted in as the New Secretary. Mariann Hokanson was voted in as a voting member. All present were in agreement.
