Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club Minutes

The monthly meeting of the Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club was held on 3/20/2013 at Stevelly’s. Meeting was brought to order at 6:10pm. The following board members were present: President, Brian Martinson; Vice President, Shawn Peichel and Secretary, Alanna Burns. Other members present: Jen Soule
Secretary’s report: N/A due to lack of attendance at the February meeting
Treasurer’s report: Treasurer was absent, but current report was presented and passed.
Old Business:
Facebook and website: Mariann has done a great job at maintaining website. Alanna has Twitter username and password for future “tweets”. Facebook is being utilized to spread info on upcoming meetings and fundraisers.
Bylaws: we need to find out if the committee members have gotten together to create new bylaws. Alanna Burns reinstated the club with the secretary of state to Active status.
Butter Braids: The club profited $2765 from sales this year. Up $260 from last year.
T-shirt sales: The club profited $656 on t-shirt sales. Only 2 families did not pay for True Team shirts that were ordered. Winners for butter braid top sales were:
1 – Bernstetter 2 – Wengel 3rd – Hokanson
Prizes will be awarded at Spring show.
Year End Video / Team Banquet: Dawn Hutmacher has volunteered to create video to play at Team banquet to be held on April 18.
Sign campaign: we have 24 renewals yet to be collected for. A huge part of our fundraising efforts come from this campaign so if you know someone who owns a business or have a good contact at a business that doesn’t have a sign, please approach them.
New Business:
Brian will talk to Jody about putting together new team gymnast packets for upcoming 7 graders.
We would like to do a Thank You to Fred Sailer at either the banquet or the spring show. Not sure at this point of the details.
Zoe Olsen was given a donation for her mission trip fundraiser silent auction. She was given a t-shirt, key chain and car decal.
The booster club paid the attorney fee for the Gymnastics Academy to create a new legal and binding coaches contract.
At the spring show scheduled for May 23, we will announce butter braid winners and get permission to sell remaining t-shirts and window clings.
A Thank you needs to be sent to KLN for their donation for giving us team of the week. Lynn B. has all thank you cards.
