The monthly meeting of the lakes area gymnastics booster club was held on 12/19/2012, meeting called to order at 6:14pm at Mulligan’s. The following members were present: Mariann Hokanson, Brian Martinson, Shaun Peichel, Sara Peichel, Heather Fones, Kelly widness, Dean Bahls, Rhonda Bahls, Carol Peterson, Heather Meyer, Jennifer Souk, Alanna Burns, Beth Lorentz, and Lynn Breitenfeldt.
Secretary’s Report: Accepted as written.
Treasurers Report: Dan Meyer not present
Old Business:
Sign Campaign: Shawn Peichel will be sending out 60 letters to businesses with renewals this year. If anyone can help or give suggestions for getting new businesses signed up let Shaun know.
Facebook and Web page: Getting more followers on facebook and more activity on web page. Need to communicate to people that the Web page is a booster club Web Page only, which is separate from the LAGA program. So any updates on gymnastics schedules etc..Schedules will come directly from Charlie and its only a courtesy of the booster club to email out changes in schedule etc…
Jackie Mann Tournament:
*Concessions: Concession sales were down this year since we were unable to use the middle school for the event this year. It was stated by Brian Martinson that Fred Sailor will reserve the middle school for the Jackie Mann Tournament next year.
*Face Painting: Was a hit with the kids brought in $59.50. We also had this down the hall in the high school and was not visible to many people. Will have this again next year at the middle school.
*TV Streaming: went well after they got it going. Smart phones interrupted the service.
*T-Shirts for Jackie Mann: All t-shirts were sold.
* Article paper and radio went well. Will do again next year
*Team Travel boxes went well. Will do again next year
* “I love Perham Gymnast” T-Shirts sold: $56.00. Gave one away on the radio for answering trivia question about the Perham gymnastics.
* Car Decals for Perham Gymnasts are in. Were sold at Jackie Mann and will be sold at all other home events. If anyone wants to buy one, Please email me on our Web page or contact Lynn Breitenfeldt.
* Table cloths for judges: Looked great.
* Split the Pot: Dean and Rhonda Bahls did this raffle and made $79.00
* Thank you cards are in: Lynn Breitenfeldt took care of getting these made
* Thank you cards sent to all business that help and donated products for the tournament.
RADA Fundraiser: Orders were taken by Lynn and all were distributed. Will do again and also you can order at any time on our Web page.
New Business:
By Laws: Will bring some by laws to next meeting and will decide on if we need a committee to finalize them.
Mariann Hokanson: Secretary will not seek a second term in this position. This position is done as of December 31 2012. Alanna Burns has expressed interest in this position. Mariann Hokanson will seek to stay on as voting member. This will be voted on at next meeting.
Parent’s night: January 18. It was decided not to do parent gifts or flowers at this point. Someone will check with Charlie if he wants to do anything.
Keep selling yellow jacket Key chains at all home events.
Butter Braids: Will do again in spring 2013 for Easter.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15pm
Next meeting: Wed. January 16, 2013 6pm at Mulligan’s.
