Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club Minutes

The monthly meeting of the Lakes Gymnastics Booster Club was held on 6/13/2012, at Mulligan’s. The meeting was called to order at 6:08pm by Brian Martinson. The following Officers were present: Brian Martinson; President, Shawn Peichel; Vice President, Mariann Hokanson; Secretary, Alanna Burns; Voting member, Dan Meyer Treasurer not present. Other Booster club members present: Sara Peichel, Heather Fones, and Mike Sole.
Secretary Report: Secretaries Report was accepted as written. Brian martinson made a motion to accept, seconded by Alanna Burns.
Treasurers Report: Dan Meyer not present. Will present at next meeting.
Old Business:
Shawn Peichel gave updates on sign campaign: Two new businesses bought signs this past month. Shawn will keep working the sign campaign. Thanks Shawn for all your hard work on sign sales.
Skratchers fund raiser: At this time the skratchers fundraiser is not going to be mandatory for all gymnasts to sell. The booster club will be selling them during Other fundraisers such as Deans hot dog sales and the Fair at this time. If anyone is interested in helping the sales of the skratchers please contact Brian Martinson.
Face book: Alanna Burns will be putting the information for the turtle fest parade on the Face book site. If you have a face book account sign up to be a friend of the Perham Gymnasts And get updates of activities, pictures of gymnastic events….etc.
Web Page: a small focus group will be set up by booster club members to discuss options for the Perham Gymnastics web page. Mariann Hokanson will talk to Darwin Meints who has agreed to donate his time to set up a web page. We will set up a time at his convenience to come to a Booster Club Meeting to discuss options.
Turtle Fest Parade: On Friday June 22nd The Lakes Area Gymnastics Booster Club will have a float in the parade with an appreciation sign representing all the” sign” sponsors. The sign was done by J&H Signs. The participants on the float will be past Alumni and upcoming 7 graders. The 7 graders will be handing out apples to people along the parade route. All participants must wear some type of Perham Gymnastics shirt/sweatshirt. They will meet at the sign-in booth at 1 Ave and 5 St. and they will tell you were the gymnastics float is, or when you get there you can call Brian Martinsons cell phone (218- 298- 1747) and he will direct you where to go.
The booster club will be decorating the float Tue June 19 at 6:00pm at Stave Breitenfelts shop (Top Line Electric 625 2 St NE Perham) If interested in helping just come to his shop, your help would be appreciated.
ACS Float in Turtle Fest: Brian Martinson will be taking 15 kids total from the 4, 5, & 6 grade gymnasts. If interested please contact Brian Martinson. All participants will get and ACS T-Shirt.
New Business:
Hot Dog Fundraiser: will be held at Deans Country Market July 6 from 10:00-2:00 Brian and Jody Martinson will be heading this fundraiser. They will need 1 more adult and 6 Kids. If interested please contact Brian Martinson. They also be selling the Skratchers fundraiser there with the Approval of Deans.
United Community Bank Fundraiser: Every Wednesday this Summer United community Bank will have a Yellow Jacket Pride BBQ. All Proceeds will go to benefit the PHS Activities. Sara Peichal and Lynn Breitenfeldt will be heading this fundraiser on July 11. Please come and support the gymnasts. See attached.
Booth at the Fair: Dan Meyer is checking into this. He was not present at this meeting.
Summer Gymnastics Camp: The Booster Club will own the concessions, sales and admission to the show. The concession food will be discussed at the next meeting.
