Old Business:
Sign Campaign: Sign campaign went well this year. Thank you Shawn for all your hard work! Next year is a big year for sign renewal, 62 signs need to be renewed.
Skratchers fundraiser: The fundraiser got off to a slow start this summer being brand new. But it was decided by the booster club members after receiving positive feedback from parents that participated in this fundraiser that we will try it again next summer. We are still going to finish selling the cards we have, but the expiration dates on most of the coupons have expired. Brian Martinson will talk to the businesses that gave these coupons and see if they will extend their coupon date. If you want to know more info on this fundraiser please respond back to this email, come to the next Booster meeting, or talk to Brian Martinson. It really is an easy fundraiser to do and will benefit all the gymnasts.
Facebook and Web page update: Alanna Burns stated that we got a few more facebook fans and we got a few new people to come to the gymnastics open house because they saw it on facebook. Mariann Hokanson gave quick update on web page. We should have it up and running by the beginning of Oct. More to come on the Web Page.
Welcome packet for new parents: Jody Martinson is working on this project. She was not present at this meeting so we will discuss it at next month’s meeting.
New Business:
Shelly from Mulligan’s asked if we could help serve food Sept 29 for a big Wedding. She needs 10 Adults and it would be an easy fundraiser for the Booster club. I will be talking to her today and get more details and send out a separate email. We did have 5+ booster members volunteer last night so we will need 4-5 more. If you are able to help for 2 hours please respond back to this email address.
Sept 7 Football game concessions went well. The money raised throughout the season is split evenly among all the groups that volunteered. We will be eligible to do this fundraiser again in 2 years.
The Banquet that was discussed to do this December for Bob Kinlund has been changed to a “Reunion Banquet” that the Booster Club will host this coming summer. After a long discussion it was decided that having the banquet in December would be difficult, due to Holiday travel plans, holiday work parties, family plans etc… Plans for this reunion will be discussed in upcoming meetings.
Fundraiser Ideas for Nov/Dec: 1. RADA will be done again this year and it will also be on our web site so purchases can be made throughout the year.
2. Lynn Breitenfelt is going to talk to her sister Sandy on possibly doing holiday wreath sales. The gymnasts would be going to businesses to get pre-holiday orders and then also sell them from an enclosed trailer in Dean’s parking lot, with hot chocolate. Lynn will bring back the details at next meeting if this can be done.
3. Perham Gymnastic car decals: Lynn Breitenfelt will talk to J& H signs.
Parade of Lights float Nov. 23 (day after thanksgiving) Booster club members agreed to do a float in the parade with a trailer carrying the sponsors sign and having some of the gymnasts on the float. Brian Martinson will also talk to Fred Sailer on getting the “Bee” costume for someone to wear on the float.
